After rewatching this video, the only thing I could see that maybe, just maybe Roland West had called Thelma Todd to the car as if he was going to drive her somewhere. He turns the car on, calls Thelma Todd to the car to let her drive, beats her and then locks her in the garage or can flip it and say that Thelma Todd was going to take Rowland West out, West beats Thelma in the car and then locks the garage. Ehh I can see that possible which could have caused the cracked ribs.

Just a quick something that stood out to me. When the chauffeur said that she always asked him to escort her to her door, but didn't on that particular night.
